Industry leaders collaborate at NEW Forum

Nearly 200 cpg/retail leaders explored new ways to innovate and collaborate at the NEW Executive Leaders Forum 2010, July 13-15 in Dallas. The event included keynotes by Dave Dillon, CEO of The Kroger Co., Joe DePinto, CEO of 7-Eleven, and Lyn Heward, director of Creation for Cirque du Soleil. Walmart CEO Bill Simon participated in a roundtable discussion on how the industry could advance women to senior leadership roles. Larry Merlo of CVS will kick off 2010 Summit

A diverse group of leaders, including CVS Caremark President and COO Larry Merlo, futurist Edie Weiner and retired Lt. Col. Consuelo Kickbusch, will share their personal experiences and business insights at the NEW Leadership Summit 2010, Sept. 27–29 in Charlotte. The Summit will also include three SuperSessions, a “generations at work” roundtable, networking opportunities and optional events, including Retail Safari® store tours and a Deep Dive Career Day. U.S. diversity programs more advanced

Diversity best practices are significantly less advanced outside of the United States, even at companies well known for their diversity and inclusion practices stateside, according to a survey by DiversityInc. Initiatives involving work/life benefits, recruitment, diversity training, employee-resource groups and mentoring are not as prevalent in Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Sweden or the United Kingdom.
