NETWORK OF EXECUTIVE WOMEN SEPTEMBER 2009 NEW Leadership Summit loaded with optionsThe Network of Executive Women has announced an ambitious agenda for its eighth annual Summit, October 12-14, 2009 in Dallas. The agenda will include three keynote speakers, six workshops, a free pre-Summit workshop and optional events, including Retail Safari® store tours and Deep Dive Career Management Workshop. More than 500 consumer products and retail executives are expected to attend the Summit of NEW members. Early-bird registration closes August 19. More Industry doing a good job on diversity, NEW study findsThe consumer products and retail industry is doing a good or excellent job implementing diversity and inclusion as a business strategy, according to a majority of respondents to a recent survey by the Network of Executive Women, the industry’s largest diversity organization. More than 53 percent of respondents said the industry was doing a good job on diversity and inclusion, 5 percent said the industry was doing an excellent job, 40 percent said “there is room for improvement” and 2 percent said the industry was doing a poor job implementing diversity and inclusion. The survey of 635 NEW members and supporters was conducted July 10-21 as part of the organization’s upcoming Best Practices Report, “White Men: Enrolling the Dominant Culture in Diversity and Inclusion,” which will be published in October. More CVS Caremark executives confer with NEWMore than 100 CVS Caremark executives discussed leadership opportunities, career development and networking best practices with representatives of the Network of Executive Women June 29 at the firm’s Woonsocket, Rhode Island, headquarters. CVS Caremark CEO Tom Ryan opened the event and greeted NEW’s representatives, who included Bobbie O’Hare, vice president of new business development for Johnson O’Hare Companies, and Anne Fink, vice president and general manager of PepsiCo Sales.
