Network members get active from coast to coast

 

NEW Client Services Director Nancy Krawczyk (left) was the guest speaker at a meeting of Unilever’s Women's Interactive Network December 11 in Englewood Cliffs, N.J. Krawczyk was joined by Unilever executives (from left): Silvia Lagnado, global vice president, Savoury; NEW Ambassador Lisa Klauser, vice president, consumer and customer solutions and WIN co-chair; Amanda Sourry, senior vice president and general manager of Foods US and WIN co-chair; and Nancy Schnell, deputy general counsel. More 50 Unilever associates attended the meeting in person and via video conference. The program included a review of internal career and work/life resources available to Unilever associates and a panel discussion moderated by Lisa Klauser about success strategies for today’s business environment.

 

CPG/retail leaders featured in the Network’s The NEW Woman Rules book helped raise $150,000 at the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk for the Cure October 31 to November 2, 2008 at Tampa Bay, Florida. The book’s author, Fawn Germer, organized and recruited Network members Helayne Angelus, Barb Hartman, Maria Edelson, Luci Sheehan, Maureen McGurl and Lyne Brown for the transformational experience. Priscilla Eskridge, director of corporate diversity for CVS Caremark, discussed the importance of diversity and inclusion at the firm's NEW activation meeting, November 20 in Woonsocket, R.I. Two dozen CVS Caremark executives participated in the kick-off meeting, including Larry Merlo, executive vice president of CVS Caremark and president of CVS/pharmacy, Helena Foulkes, senior vice president of CVS Caremark’s Health Care Services, Michael Ferdinandi, senior vice president of human resources, and Janine Dempsey, manager of the firm's office of diversity and inclusion. NEW’s President Elect Michelle Gloeckler, vice president strategic customers of the Hershey Company, was among those representing the Network.

 

Nearly 150 food executives gathered November 6 to learn about the future of the retail industry at the Greater Philadelphia networking luncheon in Norristown, Penn. Greater Philadelphia Secretary Christine Hartmann of Saint Joseph's University (right) received the group’s “Best of the Best” Committee Award for 2008.
