Deadline for board nominations August 1

Members urged to get involved in leadership

Members of the Network of Executive Women have until August 1 to submit nominations for its board of directors. Elections will be held on Monday, September 11, just prior to the Network's Annual Leadership Summit in Dallas.

Active NEW members from the following categories are eligible: Retailers, wholesale distributors, manufacturers, brokers and solution-providers, plus members of organizations allied to the industry, such as media and associations.

'Ask a busy person'

"There's a saying that if you want something done, ask a busy person," said Network President Kimberly Betts, a member of the Human Capital Practice of Deloitte & Touche. "The Network's work of advancing women in CPG and retail industries is too important to be left for 'someone else.' Serving in a leadership role is a great way to help yourself, your company and your industry."

A nominating committee consisting of Betts, Past President Michele Hanson, President-Elect Helayne Angelus and NEW Champions Bonnie Wurzbacher and Dan Abraham will evaluate nominations. Network members who wish to submit a nomination should submit the application form by August 1 to Nathalia Granger, NEW director of operations, at ngranger@newonline.org.

Nominations are open for eleven board members whose terms end in September 2006 (three of the current board members have already served two two-year terms and cannot be re-nominated; the remaining vacancies may be filled by re-nominating those currently serving).

For more information on how to nominate a candidate for one of these vacancies, or if you are interested in applying, contact Joan Toth, NEW's executive director, at jtoth@newonline.org, (312) 373-5393.
