NEW seeks Champion, scholarship nominations
Winners will be honored at May 7 reception in Chicago
The Network of Executive Women is seeking nominations for its
Outstanding Champion Award and its 2006 scholarship program. The
Outstanding Champion and up to ten scholars will be honored at a
Network reception, May 7 in Chicago.
NEW's annual Outstanding Champion award honors an industry diversity
champion who has done the most to promote the Network’s mission of
advancing the retention and advancement of women in the CPG/retail
industry. Nominations should be submitted in writing to NEW Executive
Director Joan Toth by January 31. A one-page nomination letter is preferred.
NEW's scholarship program is a major part of NEW's effort to attract
fresh talent to the industry. Students must be full-time graduate or
undergraduate students (junior and above), enrolled in a retail
marketing program at a U.S. college or university offering a major in
retail marketing, and have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
Up to ten scholarships will awarded. To apply students should submit a completed application
with a current resume, a one-page double-spaced essay outlining their
qualifications and retail career interest, and official college grade
transcripts. Two letters of recommendation, one from a retail industry
manager and one from a retail marketing professor, should also be
included.
The completed application and supporting documents should be mailed before March 1
to: The Network of Executive Women Scholarship Program, Attn:
Nathalia Granger, 161 N. Clark Street, 37th Floor, Chicago, IL 60601.
