Meet ups in Arkansas, metro New York and California
It’s not to late to register for upcoming Network events Northwest Arkansas, metro New York and Northern California or to attend a NEW-sponsored panel at the Healthy Foods International Exposition and Conference, June 18-19 in Dallas.
NEW’s Northwest Arkansas regional committee will hold a networking reception and training session May 21 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel in Bentonville, Ark. A training session by Michele Hanson, CEO of ExecuInsight LLC, will help executives make the most of gender differences.
The New York Metro committee will host a dinner and panel discussion June 3 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Meadowlands in East Rutherford, N.J. A interactive panel discussion -- “Leadership in a Virtual World” -- will be moderated by Shon Gables, host of TV’s Black Enterprise Business Report. Panelists will be: Tom Furphy, vice president, consumables, at Amazon Fresh; Robin Matza, director and Northeast Women’s Initiative leader at Deloitte; Judy Spires, president of Acme Markets; and Sheila Stanziale, vice president, small format, for PepsiCo.
The Northern California regional committee will hold a networking breakfast June 6, 2008, from 8 to 11:30 a.m. at the Bridges Golf Club in San Ramon, Calif. A discussion panel will be held featuring: Lyne Brown, vice president of the Sales Cleaning Division for The Clorox Company; Janet Hoffman, managing partner, North American retail, for Accenture; Betsy Hosick, general manager, Midstream Procurement for the Chevron Corporation; Lee Merritts, senior partner, Encore Associates and retired diversity strategy leader for Procter & Gamble North America; and Linda Nordgren, group vice president, strategic sourcing supply chain, for Safeway Inc. Author Fawn Germer will moderate the panel.

NEW is sponsoring an industry panel discussing “Activating Health & Sustainability in Retail Today” at the Healthy Foods International Exposition and Conference June 18-19 at the Dallas Convention Center. The NEW-sponsored session will be held June 18 at 9:45 a.m. and will explore how brands and retailers can connect with health- and sustainability-minded shoppers. It will be moderated by Julie Gallagher, Center Store Editor of Nutrition Business Journal, and will include Kevin Maher, marketing manager, Retail Consumer Marketing for the Clorox Company, and Timothy Scholler, senior vice president, Research and Account Planning for Mars Advertising.
