Network of Executive Women will confer Sept. 11-12 in Dallas

Retail roundtable and coaching experts will top 'Summit' bill

CHICAGO – (August 2, 2006) Celebrated coaches Jan Hill and Vanessa Weaver, a panel of retail leaders and a host of workshops and networking events will featured at the Network of Executive Women's Annual Leadership Summit, September 11-12 at the Omni Mandalay Hotel in Dallas.

Executives participating in the event's Retail Roundtable will include Janel Haugarth, senior vice president of Supervalu and president and COO of the chain's distribution food companies, and Cindy Davis, senior vice president for merchandising of 7-Eleven. The panel will be moderated by management expert Trudy Bourgeois, a former industry executive and CEO of the Center for Workforce Excellence and will examine how to retain and leverage the retail industry’s vast female talent pool and advance women to senior management.

Jan Hill and Dr. Vanessa Weaver, two leading experts on management performance, will team up for a special presentation explaining how executives can expand their leadership roles by maximizing performance, image and exposure. Dr. Vanessa Weaver has more than 20 years in organizational and HR management and experience in business restructuring, marketing and management. Jan Hill founded Hill Enterprises, Inc., in 1990 following a 10-year career with Procter & Gamble and has a proven track record as a consultant and trainer in technology, consumer goods and other industries. Weaver and Hill will also hold a breakout session on career management. Other breakout sessions will include focus on personal communication and leadership development.

Attendees gave last year’s Summit high marks, rating the event 4.12 on a scale of 1-5. Ninety-seven percent said Summit content met or exceeded expectations; 96.6 percent reported that the Summit was helpful in expanding their personal network. One survey respondent called the Summit “a great opportunity to invest in yourself.” Another described it as a “fabulous opportunity to take control of my career.”

The 2006 Summit will be held at the full-service Omni Mandalay Hotel, 20 minutes from Dallas/Fort Worth Airport and 15 minutes from downtown Dallas. Dallas offers a thriving culinary scene, world-class arts district, trendy  entertainment, and upscale shopping and is home to some of the industry’s largest players, including 7-Eleven, Dean Foods, Frito-Lay, Kimberly Clark, Pier One, Tuesday Morning and JC Penney.
